(QUINCY TOWNSHIP) – A man has been arrested following an incident in Quincy Township.
Deputies with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the area of 179 Castle Pine Drive for a suspicious vehicle. A caller says they were making deliveries and were followed by an Orange Jeep Wrangler to a residence. The caller says they were approached by an older man. They exchanged words and then the older man got into his vehicle and left heading towards Wildwood Road.
The caller said they saw the vehicle pulling off the road and the driver fell to the ground as he exited the vehicle. He then got back in the auto and drove off.
Deputies were speaking to the caller when the Jeep drove past them and parked at the Marble Lake Public Access on Wildwood Road.
A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, identified as Ronnie Marshall. He was requested to exit the vehicle due to suspicion of operating while intoxicated and not having a valid driver’s license.
Marshall refused and fled the traffic stop. Deputies followed him and apprehended him a short distance later at a residence on Williams Drive.
Marshall is charged with fleeing and eluding, a third offense of operating while intoxicated, no license and transporting open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. He was arraigned in Branch County District Court with bond set at $25,000.
