Sturgis track teams in action at Charlie Janke Inv.

(JACKSON) – The Sturgis girls and boys track teams participated in the Charlie Janke Invitational, with the Lady Trojans finishing second and the Sturgis boys were 9tha. In the girls meet, Sydney Bir took first place in the 400 meters in 58.76 seconds, breaking the school record set in 1983 by Karen Brown of 59 seconds. Bir was also a part of the winning 1600 meter relay team and the 3200 meter relay team. Tessa Hatt won the 800 meters and was part of the winning 3200 meter relay team. Vivian Massey won the adaptive shot put. For the boys, Wyatt Miller was second in the pole vault. Dawson Miller was seventh in the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles. Nolan Park was eighth in the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters.
