(CENTREVILLE) – Are the tariff’s imposed by President Donald Trump too much or a means to an end?
That question was one of many asked during a Legislative Breakfast held last week with U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg at Glen Oaks Community College. The event was co-sponsored by the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce.
Walberg says he believes Trump is using the tariff’s as a way for countries, including allies, to realize that America won’t be pushed around anymore. ...... {LISTEN}.
Walberg says the tariff's have also brought to light how other countries tariff’s are compared to the United States. He shares that Japan has a 270% tariff on certain goods, such as automobiles. There are also European countries, that enacted these tariff’s as the United States helped rebuild them after World War II, but they have remained at those levels.
