(WAYNE TOWNSHIP) – A fire claimed the life of a man in Southwest Michigan.

Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach says at 8:30 Monday morning, deputies responded to a house fire at 55550 Twin Lake Road in Wayne Township. The mobile home was fully engulfed when deputies arrived.

The Central Cass, Wayne and Dowagiac Fire Departments arrived and were able to put out the fire. During their search of the mobile home, first responders found a man inside the home, who had succumbed to the fire, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Th man’s name has not been released. A cause for the fire is still unknown.
